Molly Olson is a certified K-12 Art Educator from Richmond, VA who graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006. During her career as an Art teacher, she found herself in a public school that had a large population of children with physical disabilities and/or emotional or developmental disorders. Seeing how art-making and the creative process inspired and greatly benefited the children, she decided to investigate the therapeutic application of art and how it can be integrated in Art Education and Special Education. She is currently seeking her Master’s in Art Therapy from Instituto Universitario Nacional del Arte (IUNA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she has lived for the past 6 years. During her time off from studying, she volunteers in a home-based program for children with autism spectrum disorders and participates in social activism groups within Spanish-speaking communities.
